Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria)

The Technical University of Sofia (TUS) is a state institution for higher education established in 1945. TUS is the largest educational and scientific complex in Bulgaria in the field of technical and applied science and provides the biggest number of engineering specialties on a national level. As the first and largest polytechnic center, which supported the establishment of most of the higher technical colleges in the country, it sets the educational standards and national priorities for the development of engineering education and science.

 

Throughout its history, TUS has educated more than 80,000 engineers, economists and mathematicians. Currently more than 10,000 Bulgarian and nearly 1,000 foreign students are enrolled in the following degrees: “Professional Bachelor”, “Bachelor”, “Master” and “PhD”. The total number of lecturers and researchers exceeds 1,000 people, of whom over 400 are habilitated.

 

The university’s mission for more than 70 years has been to play an active role in the European and world educational space with comparable and competitive quality of technical education and scientific research. TUS has established itself as regional leader in education and research in the field of engineering, technical, natural and mathematical, business, creative and applied sciences.
